“What are we laughing at”: Marine Tondelier criticizes a joke by Fabien Roussel about her pregnancy

Unease on the set of C à Vous. This Wednesday evening, Marine Tondelier, the national secretary of environmentalists, shared on her social networks an extract from the France 5 broadcast of April 1. A video accompanied by the following statement: “What are we laughing about”.

In this sequence, which occurred during Bertrand Chameroy’s column – but which is not found in the replay of the show -, Patrick Cohen relates on set a joke that Fabien Roussel, the national secretary of the Communist Party, allegedly told him: “It was about Marine Tondelier’s pregnancy. He said he donated sperm a month and a half ago.”

Embarrassed smiles from the guests. “Oh no, oh no, oh no,” reacts actor Didier Bourdon. “He dared to make that joke? », asks Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine with a laugh. “Well there you go…”, continues Bertrand Chameroy. Then, Christian Clavier speaks: “Was it an April Fool’s joke? I’m going to leave (…) I can hardly stay here. It’s still complicated,” says the actor before getting up.

“Friends of poetry, good evening,” added Marine Tondelier on Instagram. The boss of the Greens received the support of Elsa Faucillon, communist deputy for Hauts-de-Seine.

“We’re not laughing at all. A poor and insulting joke, the elected official pointed out at Off-air or not, when you are responsible for a feminist party you don’t say that. »

“A miracle baby”

On March 30, Marine Tondelier announced in an interview with Elle magazine that she was three months pregnant. “A “miracle baby”, in his words, after miscarriages and an unsuccessful PMA (medically assisted procreation) journey.

“I am going through a period of contrasts,” declared the 2027 presidential candidate. “Difficult on a political level, but very happy on a personal level, since I am expecting a child, news that fills me with joy, even if it took me by surprise. »

“A pregnant campaign was sporty,” added the woman who is already the mother of a little boy after the municipal elections. It’s also a relief to announce my pregnancy today. Since January, I felt like I was leading a double life. »

The announcement by the Hauts-de-France elected official was welcomed by associations, women and couples affected by unsuccessful PMA journeys, believing that it broke a taboo.
