Lamar Odom: “Khloe helped me, but God helped more”

Former NBA star Lamar Odom was a guest this week on the Today With Jenna & Sheinelle podcast, by Jenna Bush and Sheinelle Jones, to promote the docu-film about his life on Netflix “The Untold Story: Lamar Odom”, which follows, among other things, his struggle with addictions and his relationship with Khloe Kardashian.

The podcast hosts praised Kardashian for supporting Odom after he collapsed from an overdose, even though the two were already in the process of breaking up. “After watching this docu, I saw how much she stood by you, she saved your life,” Bush told Odom, who agreed with her but quickly made a reservation: “Yes, that’s true in some ways, but God is the one who saved my life.” Ouch.

As the hosts noted, Kardashian filed for divorce from Edom after six years of marriage, shortly before he collapsed from an overdose. Despite her plea, Kardashian stayed by his side as he recovered from six heart attacks and 12 strokes. “She took care of me,” Odom admitted, but added: “But God took care of me more than anyone. I recovered from a medical miracle.”

As you remember, Chloe and Lamar met in 2009 and got married after about a month of dating. Their relationship was closely documented in the family reality show and even received a ‘spin-off’ in their own show “Chloe and Lamar”. They separated in 2013 after Khloe filed for divorce due to the former basketball player’s drug addiction and publicized infidelities.
