Like humidity, fascism tries to sneak into Mexico, among other loopholes, through music, to get the sympathy of young people and penetrate there, but we will not allow it, we will give a pitched battle against them
said to The Conference Tomás Pliego Calvo, Secretary of Art and Culture of the National Executive Committee of Morena.
Yesterday, in the company of the Morenista deputies Indali Pardillo Cadena, Ana Francis López Bayghen Patiño, Marisol García Segura and Carlos Francisco Ortiz Tejeda, filed a complaint with the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office against whoever is responsible, for the organization of the neo-Nazi party that took place on October 29 in the Pentathlon hall of the Santa María la Ribera neighborhood.
Those who organized that concert that brought together Spanish and Mexican groups of the punk and hardcore genre, attended by some 300 people, are accused of crimes against the dignity of people and discrimination.
This newspaper detailed on November 9 that among the attendees, dressed in swastikas, Nazi tattoos and shaved heads, Hitler and fascist slogans were chanted, in a night of praise for hatred.
The date the neo-Nazi party was held is not minor
Pliego added, as it was chosen in commemoration of the culmination of the March on Rome by Benito Mussolini, in 1922, as well as the foundation of the Falange fascist party, in Spain, in 1933.
He added that this situation is in the context of “the right-wing offensive of international fascism that brought the Vox meeting to Mexico months ago, a few weeks ago the meeting of right-wing characters and some other actions that clearly show that there is a reorganization offensive or counter-offensive of far-right ideology.
This resurgence of fascism is not only taking place in Europe. We have seen pictures of soccer matches of Spanish fans with Nazi swastika flags and other things. That is why we present the complaint, because we consider that it is very important and an obligation to denounce and follow up on these events, so that those who convened, organized and financed this party and others who, as a result of From this denunciation that was known in the media and on social networks, it was learned that they have been carried out, although without being fully public knowledge because they are almost clandestine.
Agreement between Vox and PAN, trigger
The complaint explains that on November 15, the Secretary of the Government of Mexico City, Martí Batres Guadarrama, reported at a press conference that neo-Nazi groups of Spanish citizens in the capital had met in an establishment called El Pizarro, located in the Roma neighborhood, Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office, and its subsidiary in Coyoacán, and that “the presence of these groups in Mexico ‘shot up’ after the signing of a letter between Vox and the PAN.”
Although the Pentathlon room was closed, “we want the prosecution to get to the bottom of the matter, because what if these parties are financed, in one way or another, by National Action. We do not know. What we do know is that in the circle of closest collaborators of federal deputy Jorge Romero, who is also the head of the real estate cartel and the true head of the PAN in the city, they call him El leader”, Pliego reiterated.
The secretary of the National Executive Committee of Morena assured that those who filed the complaint yesterday “we are going to become a magnifying glass, in the shadow of all the neo-Nazi fascist manifestations, because they must be delimited and neutralized. These groups divide, confront and promote radical classism and racism. We cannot be naive or oblivious to it. What happened a few days ago in Peru is a manifestation of that extreme right, wanting to push back the national democratic movements.
“That is why we are on high alert, to detect these demonstrations and report them. It is more than evident that not only in Mexico, but in Europe and other places in Latin America, the strategy is to seek the sympathy of young people. That is why it is also important to fight through actions that promote and involve these young people in activities that are not related to fascist ideology.
It is a pitched battle on all sides that goes through, of course, the cultural aspect and all its manifestations. In other words, it is not enough to file a complaint with the prosecutor’s office, that is not in the interest of young people, but if there are other options for music concerts or shows that inform and denounce these attempts at fascism, it will help a lot.
Modify the legal framework
The complainants reported that they will also propose modifications to the legal framework so that activities such as the neo-Nazi party have sanctions. severe and exemplary
.
It is alarming that this resurgence of fascism, Pliego Calvo reiterated, that it is becoming a business involving record companies and publishers, which are subtly entering through music
.
Local legislators called to denounce the Morena parliamentary group through social networks (Twitter: @GPMorenaCdMex) and asked young people to “dive into history, to review the most relevant events of World War II so that they know all the atrocities and genocide that occurred based on fascist ideology, because it seems that there is some naivety at these parties, and some do not know what they represent deep down.
From the trenches of culture, not just politics, we have to wage a pitched battle against fascism and involve and inform young people.
Meanwhile, the invitation to a new neo-Nazi party is circulating on social networks, which is scheduled for May 20, 2023 with the title Condemned84 and of which only a telephone number is given to confirm attendance.
