Queen of the fair in Gudovac: A barrel from which five types of brandy are poured

Many exhibitors and visitors gathered at the 23rd Spring International Bjelovar Fair in Gudovac last weekend. The event exceeded all expectations. But there was a huge crowd in pavilion number eight around the stand of Agro doo from Velika Pisanica. Many visitors crowded around the unique barrel from which as many as five types of brandy can be poured at the same time. It was designed by company owner Fredi Pali, and people were pushing each other to try each type. True, there were those like Tihomira Hapale, who “cemented” themselves and tasted each species for the third day in a row. And he has not yet made a judgment which is the best, so we asked him to rate us all five.

– It’s not easy. I try everything one by one. Although Premium plum brandy is, according to many, the queen of brandy, nothing is worse than viljamovka. What to say about quince brandy, which is in the third section of five, except that I like it, and I hear others praising it. My palate trembles when I try herbs. But something special is the liqueur jegaro, which is based on 56 types of herbs – Tihomir expertly explained to us.

One of the ladies pushed her way to the barrel and asked for a glass of liqueur with the words that she had to clear her veins because she had had a hearty breakfast. After emptying her glass in one gulp, she looked at the owner and said that she had never tasted such a quality drink in her life. All that satisfied commotion was watched from the side by Pali, the owner of the innovative barrel. Satisfied with what he sees, he explained that these are two wooden barrels made of 30-year-old oak.

– The larger barrel, with a volume of 150 liters, serves as a stand and has wheels, so it can be turned. And in it lies less than 30 liters, which is divided into five parts in which there are stainless steel containers with two liters of brandy, or four types and one in which Bilogora liqueur jegaro, and each has its own faucet – the owner explained. He says he keeps the barrel at home, where he has a tasting room and about 2,000 liters of fruit brandy, which he sells on the doorstep. He offered us a liqueur that has 30 percent alcohol, and each type of brandy contains 40 percent alcohol, and he whispered that he was afraid that he would run out of brandy because he had prepared only 50 liters for the tasting.

– That barrel is great for everyone. One of the newlyweds inquired about the conditions under which I would rent them a full barrel to celebrate the bachelorette and bachelorette party – said Pali.

At the stand next to the brandy, we also saw a variety of natural juices, but only children pushed around them.

Passing the company Interexport from Samobor, a member of the company’s board, Iva Karaula, told us that in addition to the most expensive tractor, which was sold on the first day for 2.6 million kuna, other Fendt tractors also found buyers.
