The adventurous Kanakan has a turtle as a servant, a vicious uncle as a friend and an vicious uncle who escaped from prison as an opponent

Humor and loose jokes support the hasty story of family animation.

Animated

Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness, phjaus Ben Stassen yes Benjamin Mosquet. 92 min. K7.

In hero stories the internal conflict of the protagonist is often the force that sustains the action. In an animated film My hen and the hamster of judgment the contradiction appears on top: the hero is half a rabbit, half a chicken.

The prologue quickly rewinds how the celebrated adventurer Charles found little Kanakan in the jungle and took it with him. Charles later became the reigning king of the kingdom and Kanakan became the king’s adoptive son.

At the moment Kanakan has grown into an avid young man who would like to be an adventurer worthy of his father. At the same time, the mind is weighed down by its own difference: rabbit ears and chicken legs are a combination that has not been encountered before.

But other problems are known. Uncle Arvid, who escaped from Kanakan prison, plans to oust his brother from the throne. In order to succeed in his cowardly plan, the villain intends to find a hamster scepter of fabulous judgment that will give his plaintiff immense powers.

Kanakani decides to prove his ability as an adventurer and blocks his uncle’s plot. According to Hugo, a loyal but timid turtle servant and a brave Meri stinker accustomed to the prejudices of others, take part in the adventure. The journey, of course, is a journey of discovery into one’s self-esteem, during which the special qualities of each prove useful.

Kanakani based on american Chris Grinen to create a cartoon character. The film is directed by Ben Stassen and Benjamin Mosquet. The duo, who have had a long career in animation, include previous work Bigfoot family (2020) and Corgi – the queen’s puppy (2019).

Although David Collardin the story he writes emphasizes the power of difference, the film itself does not aim for any kind of uniqueness. Indiana Jones references suggest an immersive adventure, but the influences remain in the hat, rot, and whip department.

Once again, humor and loose jokes support the hasty story.
