American rapper Nicki Minaj She was detained this Saturday at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam, hours before her concert scheduled for tonight in Manchester (United Kingdom).
Minaj, 41, posted a series of messages on the social network X (formerly Twitter) recounting what happened, including one in which she wrote: “They say they found marijuana”.
“Please note that they took my suitcases without consent,” he wrote in another post. “My security has already warned you that those pre-rolls [de marihuana] They belong to him. Oh yeah, and the pilot wants me to delete my Instagram post,” he added.
In a live broadcast on her Instagram account, a police officer can be heard wanting to arrest Minaj for allegedly “carrying drugs,” but she denied it.
“I’m not going to go in there. I need a lawyer present“argued the rapper.
When asked about Minaj, Robert van Kapel, spokesman for the Royal Netherlands Marechausseetold NBC News: “We can confirm that we have detained a 41-year-old American woman at Schiphol Airport for possession of soft drugs“.
The Grammy nominee is currently on her world tour Pink Friday 2which is expected to make a stop tonight in Manchester, at the newly opened venue Co-op Live.
For now, it’s unclear if Minaj’s show has been affected. The latest Co-op Live update was posted shortly after 17:15 (GMT), but It did not confirm whether the show would be canceled or not.. “Please note that general and premium admission doors for tonight’s Nicki Minaj show will open at 7:00 p.m.,” the statement read.
