Documentary about the Tour de France: “Survival is everything”

The Tour de France is the biggest road cycling race in the world. There is hardly anyone who would doubt this statement. Nevertheless, Netflix will also be showing the second season of the documentary series “Tour de France: In the peloton” (eight episodes, from June 11) never tires of emphasizing this aspect of the Tour de France with pithy, martial quotes. “It’s murderous and brutal. You sacrifice your life and your family,” says one of the 176 riders who took part in the 110th Tour de France last year. Or as one of the 22 team bosses put it: “Everyone should want to kill for a stage win.” He is not alone in this. “If they can kill you, they will,” another team boss underlines this warning sign.
