Rock band Pearl Jam cancels two concerts in Berlin

Due to illness in the band, Pearl Jam will not play in Berlin on July 2 and 3. As the Seattle-based group announced in a statement shared on social media, they deeply regret this decision.

“We are deeply saddened that so many have invested time, money and emotional energy to get tickets and see the band, and it hurts our hearts to have to disappoint them,” the message reads, in which Pearl Jam also regrets that it was not possible to find another date for the Waldbühne performances. Fans who have already purchased tickets will be refunded.

The rock band, which became famous in the 1990s and is currently touring with its latest album “Dark Matter”, had previously cancelled its concert in London. According to media reports, frontman Eddie Vedder was struggling with vocal problems at their last performance in Manchester last Tuesday.

A few days later, the London show was cancelled. “Despite all efforts, the band has not yet fully recovered,” Pearl Jam wrote in their statement.

The two Berlin concerts would have been the only German shows of their world tour. According to the band’s website, the next performances are planned for July 6 and 8 in Barcelona.
