The mystery had been kept very well until now. While no official cause of his illness had been revealed, American actor Jamie Foxx was filmed interacting with fans in downtown Phoenix (Arizona), revealing details about the health problem that forced him to be hospitalized for a while last year during the filming of the Netflix movie “Back in Action”.
In a short video that has already made the rounds on social media, the 56-year-old actor spoke about his first symptoms, which he contracted in April 2023. “On April 11th of last year, I had a bad headache. I asked my son for an Advil,” he explained, before indicating with a snap of his fingers: “I was away for 20 days. I don’t remember anything.”
After saying that his sister and daughter took him to the first doctor, Jamie Foxx tells the woman sitting next to him that he got “a cortisone shot.” “The next doctor told me there was something going on up there,” he added, pointing to his head, without elaborating. “I won’t say it on camera,” the Django Unchained actor said, waving at the camera that was filming him, prompting laughter from the audience. “But it was…” he continued, shrugging, without finishing his sentence.
Several false rumors
Without giving details on the nature of his hospitalization, Jamie Foxx spoke out last summer to discuss his “hellish” experience, described as “a dark and unexpected journey” at the end of which he was finally able to see “the light at the end of the tunnel.” Simply mentioning “medical complications,” he said he wanted people to see him “laugh, [s]’have fun, party, make a movie’ and not ‘with hits coming out of [son] body” so people wouldn’t wonder if he was going to make it.
The Oscar-winner for best actor for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the biopic “Ray” also said his sister Deidra and daughter Corinne saved his life, before denying allegations that he had gone blind or paralyzed during his illness, or that he had fallen ill because of his Covid vaccines.
