The prosecution is calling for the indictment of Benoit Jacquot for the rape of Julia Roy and Isild Le Besco

The Prosecutor’s Office has requested this Wednesday the indictment of the filmmaker Benoit Jacquot by The rape of Isild Le Besco and Julia Roy,according to the French media ‘Le Parisien’.

The filmmaker was arrested last Monday for questioning.like the filmmaker Jacques Doillon, who was released for “medical reasons.”

However, 48 hours later the prosecution requested that Jacquot be formally charged for “rape, sexual assault and violence, allegedly committed between 2013 and 2018″ against Julia Roy, and for “rape of a minor by a person with authority, rape by a partner, allegedly committed between 1998 and 2000, and in 2007“ against Isild Le Besco.

The prosecution has also indicated that it wants Jacquot to be released under judicial supervision. The investigation was launched following a complaint by Judith Godrèche.

The 52-year-old actress publicly accused Benoît Jacquot of rape in early February, then Jacques Doillon of sexual violence, sparking a new storm in the #MeToo world of French cinema.
