Botero’s sculptures for the first time in Rome

Botero’s sculptures for the first time in the Capital, from July 10 to October 1, 2024. The exhibition entitled ‘Botero in Rome’, curated by Lina Botero, is organized by the Fernando Botero Foundation in collaboration with Il Cigno GG Edizioni, Bam Eventi d’arte and Il Cigno Arte. Eight monumental works by the Colombian artist, universally recognized for his iconic voluminous figures, will be installed in some of the most beautiful squares in Rome (Terrazza del Pincio, Piazza del Popolo, Largo dei Lombardi, Piazza di San Lorenzo in Lucina, Piazza Mignanelli and Piazza San Silvestro).

The presentation press conference will be held on July 9th at 10:30 am at Salone Bernini, Palazzo Ripetta (via di Ripetta 231, Rome). The meeting will be opened and moderated by Giulia Silvia Ghia, Councilor for Cultural Policies, Educational Policies, Sports and Youth Policies of Municipio I Roma Centro. Speakers will include Miguel Gotor, Councilor for Culture, Lorenza Bonaccorsi, President of Municipio I Roma Centro, Lina Botero, curator of the exhibition, Maria Isabella Barone of Bam Eventi d’arte and Lorenzo Zichichi of Il Cigno GG Edizioni. The vernissage will be held on July 10th at 7:30 pm at Terrazza del Pincio (Piazzale Napoleone I – Rome).

The exhibition is made possible thanks to the collaboration between the public and private sectors that saw the support of the Municipio I Roma Centro in the Councilor for Cultural Policies, Policies and Education for Sport and Youth Policies, Giulia Silvia Ghia and all the offices of the Department of Culture of the Municipio I and of the Municipality of Rome.
