Charli XCX told the BBC On the Sidetracked podcast the word brat representing a person who might have “a pack of cigarettes, a Bic lighter and a strapless white top without a bra”.

“Just like that girl who is a bit messy, likes to party and maybe says stupid things sometimes,” the singer said.

Some pop critics have viewed the brat concept as a rejection of the ideals associated with femininity, replacing them with more hedonistic and rebellious attitudes.

Charli XCX:n Bratalbum and its characteristic lime green cover has been widely featured in the media. It has been used by social media users, brands, influencers as well as news publications.

Now the wheels of the meme world are turning and Harris supporters produce videos that connect Brat-album excerpts for Harris’ speech.

Make a meme video among the most popular are excerpts from what Harris went viral about the “coconut palm speech”. The video was originally posted on July 3 and has garnered over 3.6 million views on X.
