The cultural policy of the CSU: A little bit of fun is a must

It cannot be ruled out that Markus Söder will soon receive a letter from the Artists’ Social Insurance Fund, the contribution bill for July, because it should really be considered proven, at least since his singing performance on the ARD talk show “Inas Nacht”, that the Bavarian Prime Minister is also active in the arts. On the other hand, Söder has once again had massive problems with the republic’s columnists since his state government announced in June that it would “re-dimension” the plans for the new Munich concert hall. The famous violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter described the result in an unusually unintelligible way as “late, cheap, stupid” and said quite fundamentally: “Culture in Bavaria is weakening.”
