‘Quentin said bullshit about me’: Clooney ‘irritated’ by Tarantino remarks

A humorous exchange between George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino. The two men, who fought vampires together in “From Dusk Till Dawn” almost 30 years ago, are bickering in interviews. The former is “a little irritated” by the latter’s remarks about his career, notes the Guardian.

“Quentin’s been talking some crap about me recently, so I’m a little irritated with him right now,” George Clooney says in a joint interview with Brad Pitt to mark the release of the film Wolfs.

“He’s not a movie star”

And to specify under the amused eye of Brad Pitt: “He did an interview in which he quoted movie stars, and he was talking about you (Brad) and someone else, and then a guy said: And George?. He replied: He’s not a movie star. Then he literally said something like: Name one of his films from the 2000s.. And I answered: But how? Since 2000? That’s exactly where I’ve had my whole f***ing career! ยป.

The 63-year-old actor continues, to Pitt’s laughter: “So now I want to tell him: OK man! Fuck off! Go fuck yourself. I don’t mind telling him to go f*** off!” Before continuing more seriously: “But no, listen, we are really lucky to have been able to work with these great directors. The director and the script are what keeps you alive.”

While it’s unclear which interview George Clooney is referring to, Quentin Tarantino notably denounced in 2022 the “marvelization of Hollywood” and the increase in superhero films. “You have all these actors who became famous playing these characters. But they’re not movie stars,” he explained on Tom Segur’s “2 Bears, 1 Cave” podcast.
