‘The Pillars of the Earth’ arrives as a musical at the Gran Vía Theatre in Madrid with a production costing 4 million euros

The production company beon. Entertainment has presented this Wednesday, September 4, the official cast of ‘The Pillars of the Earth, the musical’, a 4 million euro production that adapts the best seller by Ken Follett.

The costumes were produced in a traditional way in the beon workshops and all the leather pieces were worked by artisans and sewn by hand, “just as was done in the Middle Ages,” explained the organizers.

This production condenses the more than 1,000 pages of the novel into a theatrical show that will represent on stage the “grandeur of a medieval adventure full of political plots” surrounding the construction of a majestic cathedral.

“The musical promises to capture the essence of one of the most important works of contemporary literature, and immerse the audience in 12th century England with advanced technology to create surround sound,” they stressed.

A total of 27 actors make up the cast of this company, with Teresa Ferrer and Cristina Picos as the two protagonists in the alternating role of Aliena and Javier Ariano in the role of Jack.
