Ferragosto, Sangiuliano visits the Colosseum

The Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, went to Rome this morning, to the Colosseum Archaeological Park, open on the day of Ferragosto like the other state archaeological sites. Accompanied by the Head of the Department for the Promotion of Cultural Heritage, Alfonsina Russo, the Undersecretary of Culture, Gianmarco Mazzi, and the Commander of the Carabinieri for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, Gen. d. Francesco Gargaro, the Minister visited the Flavian Amphitheater and greeted the staff on duty today.

“I wanted to personally thank the workers who, even today, ensured the opening and reception of visitors in our museums. I extend this thanks to the staff of the other cultural sites open in Italy. With the civic passion they put into their work, this year too we were able to guarantee citizens and tourists the opportunity to visit those sites that represent a heritage of beauty unique in the world. Our commitment continues to make national museums and archaeological parks even more accessible and attractive”, said Sangiuliano who, at the end of the visit, chaired the Ferragosto meeting at the Collegio Romano with the Department Heads and General Directors to take stock of current activities and future projects.
