7 foods that help protect the liver

Garlic, grapefruit, beets, and green tea are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and beneficial fats that contribute to a healthy liver.

The liver participates in more than 500 different functions of the body. The main task of this organ is to metabolize nutrients, support the immune system, store protein, and remove toxins and waste from the body. MSc.BS. Le Thi Thu Ha, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Tam Anh General Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, said that in addition to regular health checks, a scientific diet can protect the liver.

Garlic Contains antioxidants such as allicin, selenium and many other compounds, supporting liver detoxification and stimulating bile production. Garlic can be used in salads or added to everyday dishes.

Grapefruit Rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, promoting the liver to enhance its ability to self-detoxify. Eating fresh grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice contributes to maintaining liver health.

Sugar beet contains betalain, which helps reduce inflammation and improve liver function. Beets can be processed into juice or added to the diet.

Green tea contains catechins – powerful antioxidants, capable of reducing inflammation and liver fat. Drinking green tea regularly helps protect the liver from harmful agents.

Olive oil Provides monounsaturated fats, reduces liver fat accumulation and increases insulin sensitivity. Families can use olive oil in food preparation and salad preparation.

Cruciferous vegetables Such as broccoli, cabbage, and kale are rich in glucosinolates – compounds that support the liver’s natural detoxification enzymes and reduce the risk of liver cancer. These vegetables can be used in many dishes, from salads to soups.

Avocado Provides plenty of healthy fats and glutathione. This is a natural substance produced by the liver to fight aging and damage caused by free radicals. Add avocado to daily dishes such as salads and smoothies.

To protect the liver, Dr. Ha recommends that each person maintain healthy eating habits, exercise regularly and have regular health check-ups. Actively supplementing S. marianum essence, natural wasabia, contributes to controlling kupffer cells, protecting the liver from harmful microorganisms and chemicals.
