Blisters form when there is a breakdown of the bonds between cells on the skin’s surface, less than 1 cm in size. Pimples larger than 1 cm in size are called bullae. Many causes lead to this condition such as autoimmune diseases, congenital epidermolysis bullosa, atopic dermatitis, drug allergies, infections (bacteria, viruses, fungi), trauma (skin rubbing) …

Depending on the cause, the disease is dangerous or not. In case your child has eczema, skin fungus, scabies or hand, foot and mouth infection… Blisters are often accompanied by itching and discomfort. Parents need to limit children from scratching, which can cause skin abrasions, loss of the body’s protective barrier, and infections caused by bacteria penetrating the skin. If not well controlled, it can lead to sepsis, damaging important organs such as the heart, liver, brain, kidneys, and even death.

In addition, itching and blisters can be warning signs of hand, foot and mouth disease. At severe levels, the disease can cause children to die due to neurological and cardiovascular damage.

When your child has the above symptoms, you should take your child to the doctor promptly for an accurate diagnosis. Depending on the condition, the doctor will give your baby some anti-inflammatory, itching, and immunosuppressant medications to reduce symptoms. In case of infectious disease (bacteria, fungus, scabies), the doctor may prescribe antibiotics, antifungals or scabies killers to treat the disease. When taking care of children at home, you need to be careful not to let them scratch, bathe with neutral soap, and cut their nails cleanly.
