Superman challenge: At least 17 children ended up in emergency rooms in Israel

It turned out that the two, who did not know each other, were experimenting with the same TikTok challenge known as “The Superman”, during which they jumped into the arms of other boys and they quickly grabbed them. This case joins another case that happened just days before, also following the same challenge, during which a 14-year-old girl was cut on the chin and had to undergo stitches. In total, eight children who were injured due to the dangerous challenge arrived at the hospital in the last day, including a 12-year-old girl who actually arrived at the emergency room blurry, and her eyes were rolling. The hospital reported that she apparently suffered from a concussion following the challenge, and is now recovering and undergoing tests.In the meantime, other hospitals are also reporting on children who were injured as a result of the challenge: two children came to the emergency department at the Dana Doak Children’s Hospital in Ichilov in the last day. The Sheba Hospital also reported four more children who were injured and are now being treated. Dr. Keren Galron, a senior specialist at Meler “D Safra for the children at the hospital: “Yesterday during the day several children came to us after doing the ‘Superman’ challenge on TikTok, suffering injuries Light-moderate such as upper body fractures and cuts. All were treated professionally and released home with instructions for further treatment. This is a very dangerous challenge that can lead to head injuries and more serious injuries.”

In recent days, at least three children have also arrived at Meir Hospital who suffered contusions due to the challenge. One of them is currently being treated for a broken arm. Dr. Dania Takagi, a pediatric emergency medicine specialist in the pediatric emergency medicine department at the medical center: “In recent days, a number of children have been evacuated to our emergency department due to Injuries, after participating in the Tiktok challenge, two of them came with a head injury, one of them even needed a CT scan of the head for fear of bleeding or a fracture due to the fall. which occurred from a significant height, and another boy was diagnosed with an arm fracture due to a fall on his shoulder.”
