The Prime Minister approved the plan to merge three central hospitals

Two hospitals 71 and Nursing – Rehabilitation were converted into practice hospitals of Hanoi Medical University, while Quang Nam Central General General Hospital became facility 3 of Hue Central General Hospital.

The plan to arrange hospitals under the Ministry of Health for the period 2025-2030 has been approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1704/2024.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Health will directly manage a small number of leading specialized hospitals, ensuring medical security in the Central Highlands and key socio-economic regions, in accordance with the medical network planning. national international. The remaining hospitals will be transferred to local management or merged into public service units under the Ministry.

Specifically, by the end of 2025, the Ministry of Health will reorganize 3 hospitals: Central Hospital 71 and Central Nursing – Rehabilitation Hospital (both in Thanh Hoa) will become practice hospitals of the Ministry of Health. Hanoi Medical University; Quang Nam Central General Hospital will become the 3rd facility of Hue Central General Hospital. At the same time, Central Hospital 74 will be handed over in its original state to the People’s Committee of Vinh Phuc province for management.

In the period 2026-2030, the Ministry of Health will develop a specific plan to continue arranging affiliated hospitals and submit it to the Prime Minister in the second quarter.

Currently, the Ministry of Health manages 34 hospitals, including Bach Mai, Cho Ray, C Da Nang, E, Central Acupuncture, Central Psychiatry 1, 2, K, Central Lung… Expected by 2030 , this number is reduced to 30, in order to streamline management focal points, in accordance with the national health network planning and the actual situation.

In addition, the Ministry of Health is also arranging and approving job placement projects and streamlining affiliated public service units.
