The program will develop two possible career tracks or their combination: focusing on basic research with a more in -depth understanding of the clinical needs involved and getting to know how to utilize discoveries and up -to -date knowledge to promote breakthrough projects, or focus on medical work. Studies will provide training in medicine and basic research in natural sciences and accurate sciences with an emphasis on data science and artificial intelligence.

The beginning of the studies is expected in October 2025. For the establishment of the school and the curriculum helped the Gutwart Foundation’s contribution of NIS 400 million. This is a philanthropic fund that has been operating for about fifty years and supports health, cultural and academics in Israel.

The diligence that accompanies the school is the director of the Shatibi Institute in Sheba, Prof. Iris Barke. In Shaba, they said that the opening of the additional new medical school at the Weizmann Institute joins the opening of the S. Restaurant year of Medicine at Reichman University, so that a total of 120 new doctors will be added to the Israeli health system each year, a fact that will dramatically strengthen the medical system and the national strength of the State of Israel.

The opening of the new medical school at the Weizmann Institute was opened thanks to the multi-year plan to increase clinical fields for medical training in Sheba that enables the increase in the number of doctors in Israel. Prof. Gadi Segal, head of the Teaching Authority in Sheba, said: “This is a historic step that has been a long -standing injustice in which many young people had to study medicine abroad. The opening of the new faculties at Reichman University and the Weizmann Institute is a lever for academic, social and economic growth in the country. ”
