The difference between dehydration and heat stroke
The global warming trend is well felt in Israel. The amount of the rabbi is growing, and with it the extreme heat. For example, last April, peak temperatures were not seen here for 30 years. The heat waves have a far -reaching effect on the human body, leading to an increase in morbidity and mortality, and it is necessary to know how to deal with the heavy heat loads to succeed in peace.”In the days of the rabbi, we are witnessing a sharp increase in dehydration cases, especially in sensitive populations such as children and the elderly,” explains Dr. Muhammad Kabha, a medical director at the Urged Medicine Center in Hadera. Therefore, the preparation and understanding of the critical differences between dehydration and essential heat stroke, especially when it comes to children. ”

Disruption – a common but dangerous condition

“Dehydration occurs when the fluid balance in the body is violated, loss of fluids through sweating, urine, vomiting or diarrhea without sufficient completion,” explains Dr. Kabha.

“In children, the dehydration signs may be more delicate, and include crying without tears, slack and lack of response, decreased urinary frequency (less than 2-2 wet diapers in 12 hours), balcony sunset in infants (the profit between the head and the skull) and a body heat that arises in the absence of another explanation,” he adds.

Heat Crash – Medical Emergency Mode

According to Dr. Kabha, Heat Stroke is a medical emergency that requires immediate treatment, and may cause brain damage and even death. It develops when body temperature increases over 40 degrees and fails to fall. The heat stroke includes confusion, unclear speech, loss of consciousness, red skin, hot and dry, rapid, breathing.

“In children, a heat stroke can develop faster,” says the Doctor.

Distinguish between the two – When to suspect the transition from dehydration to a heat stroke?

“A heat stroke usually develops after a stage of advanced dehydration. The appearance of confusion, change behavior, sweating and high heat cessation requires immediate medical intervention,” Dr. Kabha argues.

How to prevent the phenomenon?

“It is highly recommended to prepare for the situation. It should be emphasized that preparations are according to age groups,” emphasizes Dr. Kabha. Physical at hot hours and monitoring risk drugs (like variables).

When to seek urgent medical treatment?

“In the event of a decrease in consciousness, confusion, seizures, or high fever that does not respond to fluids, contact a doctor or urgent medical centers immediately,” Dr. Kabha clarifies.

Heat Craint Treatment

A heat stroke is an emergency, and in urgent medical centers, instant body cooling (cold, fan, cold fluid infusion), constant body temperature, blood pressure and neurological function and oxygen if necessary.

“Quickly contact a emergency room to the extent that there is neurological injury, modernity or body heat over 40 degrees that do not respond to treatment,” explains the Doctor.
