UNICEF vaccinated 13,700 Gaza children who missed vaccinations due to war

Representatives of the UN Children’s Fund UNICEF announced the successful completion of the first round of the planned childhood vaccination campaign in the Gaza Strip: more than 13,700 children were vaccinated throughout the Gaza Strip. According to The Jerusalem Post, these children missed routine vaccinations due to the two-year war.

UN officials said all syringes and vaccines needed for the vaccination campaign had been delivered to the sector, with the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) in Kiryat Gat playing a key role in ensuring supplies and access to vaccinations.

Work is currently underway to carry out the second and third rounds of the vaccination campaign in the Gaza Strip to reach every child who missed routine vaccinations due to the war.

UNICEF officials noted that they are working to expand their activities in Gaza, including identifying and treating child malnutrition and providing access to clean water and sanitation.
