Korea’s ‘holy food’ spends 10 million won per month on food

‘Holy food’ Tzuyang revealed that she eats 20 packs of ramen noodles at a time, spends more than 10 million won (about 179 million VND) on food each month and has up to 4 refrigerators at home.

The above information was shared by Tzuyang, real name Park Jung-won, when participating in JTBC’s “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” program on November 22. The 28-year-old content creator surprised the guests when she confirmed that her one-time meal can be up to 20 packs of ramen noodles or 40 servings of grilled intestines. To meet this huge demand, she set up a large-scale storage system right at her residence.

Tzuyang said that in addition to four refrigerators operating at full capacity, she also reserved a room to store snacks. At the studio, she brought two refrigerators filled with large ingredients, usually only found in industrial kitchens. Witnessing this amount of food, chef Choi Hyun-seok assessed that the scale of the female YouTuber’s hoarding was equivalent to the warehouse of a 100-seat restaurant.

During the process of checking the refrigerator, the program crew discovered a box of ready-to-eat food for one person. Tzuyang explained that she used this dish just to “fill her stomach” while waiting for the main dishes to be delivered. She also aroused curiosity when she removed the label of a multi-purpose spice because she wanted to keep her secret private.

Starting her career in 2018, Tzuyang is currently one of Asia’s top mukbang stars with 12.7 million subscribers. Even though she is only 1.61 m tall and weighs about 50 kg, doctors confirmed that her stomach is 40% larger than a normal person’s, allowing her to eat food far beyond the capacity of an adult man.

However, medical experts warn that this special eating ability poses many serious risks. Eating 15 times more calories than the body needs can easily lead to the accumulation of visceral fat, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Nutrition expert Candy Goh (Singapore) said that in the long term, the mukbang habit also negatively affects brain function, causing memory loss. In extreme cases, forcing the body to consume too much can cause a stomach rupture or stroke.
