The victim of an ambulance crash into a container on the highway suffered second-degree burns

On the afternoon of December 18, Doctor 2 Truong The Hiep, Head of General Planning Department at Cho Ray Hospital, said that the patient was admitted to the hospital at dawn on the same day, currently being treated at the Burns – Plastic Surgery Department with a diagnosis of fire burns on about 5% of the body area. The patient received initial first aid at Long Khanh Hospital (Dong Nai), then was transferred to Cho Ray Hospital due to more serious condition.

The ambulance carrying a patient and four people from Cho Ray Hospital to Binh Dinh had an accident on the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay highway early this morning. According to Dr. Hiep, the patient was transported on the accident ambulance and was treated at the Palliative Care Department of Cho Ray Hospital. Because her illness was so serious, her family asked to take her home to die at home.

The ambulance transporting patients is from an outside unit contracted with Cho Ray Hospital to enter and exit the gate to pick up and drop off patients, not the hospital’s specialized ambulance. Therefore, the car and driver do not belong to Cho Ray Hospital.

On the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay highway, an ambulance collided with a container truck parked on the road leading to the highway rest stop, causing a fierce fire. The accident killed 3 people on the spot, including the patient brought back in the car, an accompanying person and the ambulance driver. Two people were injured, of whom one is being treated at Long Khanh Hospital and the other was transferred to Cho Ray.
