The Ministry of Finance demanded that the Adasa hospital disclose financial statements amid salary delays

The Ministries of Finance and Health have required the management of Adasah Hospital in Jerusalem to provide a quarterly statement of financial position, including a statement of cash flows.

The demand comes after hospital director Yoram Weiss warned employees of significant problems that could lead to delays in payment of salaries in January 2026.

Against this background, the General Federation of Trade Unions warned of its intention to declare a state of labor conflict in order to be able to apply strike sanctions in the event of delays in wages.

The two complexes of the Adasa Hospital – on Mount Scopus (Ar HaTzofim) and in the Ein Kerem area – are together the largest medical center in the capital of Israel and one of the largest Israeli hospitals. In addition to its main function, the hospital is the base of the Faculty of Medicine of the Hebrew University.

The hospital, although it receives government funding, is not government owned but owned by the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Adasa. In 2014, the hospital was on the verge of bankruptcy due to a debt of NIS 1.3 billion. The government eventually covered the deficit as part of a multi-year turnaround program overseen by external auditors.
