A six-year-old boy with no underlying illnesses died; the cause of death could have been influenza

A six-year-old boy, who was brought in in critical condition, died at the Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem. The child, who did not suffer from any underlying disease, had been ill in recent days – he had a high fever and other symptoms of an acute viral disease.

On Monday morning, the boy’s parents found him unconscious in their Beit Shemesh apartment and called an ambulance. When paramedics arrived, the child had no pulse and was not breathing. Doctors evacuated the child to the hospital, continuing to try to resuscitate the boy.

Unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful and the child was pronounced dead at the hospital. The cause of death is being checked: the boy is believed to have had the flu.
