Sharon Kotzer, founder of the company “Bara for Medicinal Plants” and one of the prominent figures in the field of herbal medicine in Israel, passed away at the age of 60 after collapsing during a bicycle ride in an open area in the Megiddo area. He was taken by helicopter to the Rambam Hospital while CPR was performed, but he was pronounced dead there.

Kotzer, born in Kibbutz Ein Hosfit and a resident of Yakneam, was the herbalist who studied in England and brought the field of clinical herbalism to Israel. Together with his wife Ryan, he founded the “Bara” company 29 years ago, which started as a small clinic and became a leading company. He left behind a wife and three children, and the company paid tribute to him as a “creative visionary who contributed a lot to herbal medicine in Israel”.

Over the years, the company “Bara Hamel” has become the leading and largest medicinal plant company in Israel. The company was founded by Sharon and Ryan in a modest room in a building that is now used by the kibbutz’s accounting department. Today the company has a development center in Kneam Elit and ten branches throughout the country.
