The bakery was closed because more than 10 customers were hospitalized

On February 15, leaders of Tan Phu commune (former Tan Ky district) said that the interdisciplinary inspection team had asked the shop owner to stop business to serve the investigation. Health officials are taking samples of ingredients and food at the restaurant to assess and find the cause. When the facility is allowed to reopen will depend on the final conclusion of the authorities.

The incident started on February 11, when more than 10 local people bought bread here to eat. About 3 hours later, they simultaneously showed typical symptoms of food poisoning such as headache, high fever, vomiting and diarrhea. The patients quickly went to Tan Ky District Medical Center and the commune health station for emergency treatment.

Doctors determined that the patient had signs of digestive poisoning and immediately received intravenous fluids and treatment according to the anti-poison regimen. Currently, some people’s health has stabilized and they have been discharged from the hospital to home for monitoring.

It is known that this bakery has been operating locally for about a year now.

Immediately after the incident, on February 14, the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) sent a document requesting the Nghe An Department of Health to urgently investigate and trace the origin of the raw materials. The Department requires localities to focus resources on treating patients, strictly handle violations if any, and publicize the results so people can feel secure.
