Health Minister Uriel Bosso and the Ministry’s CEO Moshe Bar Siman Tov addressed the World Health Organization in a letter of sharp protest following the video footage revealed by the IDF spokesman, which indicates terrorist activity carried out by the Hamas organization from the “Shifa” hospital in Gaza. The security establishment estimates: the deal will be implemented in just a few more days
“He thought we wouldn’t turn a table”: Yehezkali explains what Sanwar’s big mistake was

“On October 7, the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the dark days of the Holocaust, thousands of Hamas terrorists stormed Israeli towns and cities, burned babies alive, raped women, tortured children in front of their parents and murdered over 1,200 men and women, including entire families. Hamas captured Israeli civilians, including infants, women and adults, many of whom are seriously ill and injured. Tragically, the World Health Organization has remained silent on this issue and has taken only symbolic steps in favor of the captive Israelis, while speaking out strongly and critically against Israel’s efforts to topple Hamas and protect Palestinian citizens” they wrote.

They also wrote, that “on November 2, Dr. Michael Ryan, director of the World Health Organization’s emergency program, claimed that he was aware of what was happening ‘above the surface’ at Shifa Hospital (in Gaza). He acknowledged that the use of medical facilities for military purposes is prohibited under international law, but doubted that terrorist acts were being carried out in the hospital complex. Despite this, yesterday the IDF published documentation from closed-circuit cameras that clearly indicates extensive terrorist activities ‘above the ground’ of the hospital itself and its surroundings, including the holding of hostages in the hospital, in violation of all ethical rules. In light of this evidence, it is clear that the description given by Dr. Michael Ryan about what is happening at the International Community Hospital was wrong and misleading.”

“We call on the World Health Organization to publicly and immediately recognize Hamas’ brutal use of health infrastructure for terrorist use and to condemn these actions, including the holding of the abductees there,” Bosso and Bar Siman Tov wrote.

We further argued that “it is now clear that the World Health Organization at the very least has turned a blind eye to the use of medical facilities for terrorist purposes and as a human shield and its tragic opposition to the evacuation of civilians from these facilities. In addition to hiding in and under hospitals and other medical facilities, Hamas continues to attack Israeli citizens, institutions and medical staff members with missiles launched from population concentrations, medical facilities and schools. This constitutes a double war crime. By failing to address these issues, the World Health Organization is contributing to the continuation of the conflict, which is causing great suffering to many.”

In conclusion, they wrote that “while Israel continues to fight Hamas, it does so with great efforts to protect the civilian population and work with international organizations to ensure access to medical care for them. The World Health Organization must demand an immediate cessation of the use of human shields, the use of health facilities for terrorist purposes and the evacuation of the population civilian to safer areas and the immediate and unconditional release of all the abductees.”
