South Korea will support Vietnam to expand Hue Central Hospital

Kim Jin Pyo, President of the Korea Global Innovation Research Association and former Speaker of the Korean National Assembly, said the above at a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the afternoon of July 2 in Seoul.

During the meeting, Mr. Kim Jin Pyo said that he and the Association, along with Korean agencies, will carry out a number of projects and cooperation plans with Vietnam in the coming time. That is to continue supporting the expansion of Hue Central Hospital – a project following the program to support the second-level hospital.

Korea will build a medical human resources training center in the Central region, and provide Korean language and vocational training for Vietnamese youth, especially in nursing, so they can work in both countries. The two sides will also exchange experiences in applying artificial intelligence in education, connecting global innovation activities, etc.

Highly appreciating that Vietnam’s GDP growth in 2024 could reach 6%, the highest in the region, Mr. Kim Jin Pyo said that this demonstrates the strong development of Vietnam’s economy and the drastic and effective direction and management of the Government.

Mr. Kim Jin Pyo visited Vietnam in January 2023 as Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. During this visit, he attended the inauguration ceremony of the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST) headquarters.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged Mr. Kim Jin Pyo’s contributions to the bilateral relationship and thanked him for his support to Vietnam in the fields of health care, public health care, and his gesture towards Hue Central Hospital, Facility 2. The Prime Minister also assigned relevant ministries and branches to continue to promote procedures for implementing the above projects.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife paid an official visit to South Korea from June 30 to July 3 at the invitation of South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and his wife.
