The secret to ‘reverse aging’ thanks to changing your diet

Shannon Collins, a famous fitness trainer, shares simple but health-changing secrets such as eating healthy, having enough meals, and focusing on protein.

With over 150,000 followers on Instagram, Shannon is passionate about inspiring women to feel more confident in their bodies.

She asserts that to maintain youthfulness, you need to build muscle, provide good nutrition to your body, train with heavy weights and challenge yourself to the limit. Once you complete these things, youth will no longer be a distant dream.

The female coach recommends eating many meals a day, every 3 hours, getting enough protein and drinking enough water to help promote the muscle building process.

Specifically, building muscle requires an energy balance, taking in more calories than you burn. The body needs about 2,800 calories to build a pound of muscle, mostly to support protein turnover. However, the body can only build about 8 ounces of muscle per week, so eating too many calories in an attempt to build muscle will also increase fat. Therefore, each person should consume an additional 250-500 calories per day, increasing or decreasing depending on whether the body gains or loses weight easily.

Eggs, bananas, soybeans, salmon, red meat, chicken, and beans are high in protein, which helps muscles grow and recover during and after physical activity.

Shannon also emphasizes tracking progress, getting enough rest, and not obsessing over the number on the scale. Success comes not only from patience but also from constant effort.

In her post, Shannon wrote: “Watch your body become more youthful as your muscles grow. Being skinny does not represent ‘youth’. Muscle has countless benefits both aesthetically and health-wise. Not only does it help you look younger, but it also increases your lifespan. It’s a double-whammy.”

Unfortunately, many women often sabotage their efforts by over-dieting, over-exercising, and focusing too much on the number on the scale.
