Robson scores again for Coritiba and is confident: “We will fight until the end”

Top scorer of the season Coritiba, with 14 goals, Robson scored again for Alviverde after a month. The number 30 came on in the second half and opened the scoring in the 3-1 victory over Ceará, in the 27th round of Série B. The striker also participated in the play that led to Júnior Brumado’s goal, the team’s second.

Coxa had a lot of difficulty attacking in the first half, which started with Robson on the bench, even though he was returning from suspension. Without any offensive success, coach Jorginho opted to bring on the number 30 at the start of the second half.

In a short time on the field, the player has already made a difference and given more speed to the attack. In the 14th minute, the striker took a free kick at the edge of the box and opened the scoring at Couto Pereira.

“Whoever comes in, whoever starts, has to always give their best and today the teacher made a choice. We have to accept it, we have to respect it. And today I was happy to come in and help. I was happy to beat it, we train a lot,” he said, in an interview with Transamerica Radio at the end of the game.

Four minutes later, Robson participated in Júnior Brumado’s goal, the second for Alviverde. The number 30 passed to Lucas Ronier who provided the assist for Brumado, who was in front of the goal. Coxa also extended their lead with midfielder Matheus Frizzo, who also came off the bench in the second half of the game.

“Now there are 11 games and as long as we are alive and have a percentage [de chance para o acesso]we will fight until the end. In the first half, we didn’t attack the space much and it was comfortable for them. And, with my entry, I was able to attack the line more, that’s what the coach asked for”, Robson added.

Robson scored third goal in Serie B

Coritiba’s top scorer in 2024, Robson’s highest number of goals for Coxa this season was in the Campeonato Paranaense. The player scored 11 times in the State Championship, with two assists.

After the Paranaense, the player was out of action for three months due to a knee injury, which required arthroscopy. He returned to play on June 27, against Amazonas.

As a result, Robson’s number of goals in Série B is much lower. In total, he scored three times in the competition and provided one assist. The striker had not scored for four games, the last time he had scored was against Ponte Preta in a 1-1 draw, in the 20th round, on August 11th.

Coritiba wins again in Série B

Coritiba won again after three games in the Second Division. The team had suffered two defeats, against Guarani and Operário, away from home, and a draw with Novorizontino, at Couto Pereira.

With this result, the team has 37 points and is in 11th place. The gap to the G4 has decreased to six points. Coxa’s next challenge is against Ituano, away from home, this Saturday (21), at 6 pm.
