Jaromir Jagr, 52, will retire this season

Ice hockey Czech legend Jaromir Jagrin A player’s career that seems like forever is coming to an end this season. Jagr, who started his professional career in the 37th season in Kladno of the Czech League at the age of 52, said Athleticille by phone on Thursday that he intends to hang up his skates after this season.

Jagr’s agent Jaroslav Zidek told Russian Match TV about Jagr’s termination plan.

Jagr, who played in the NHL for 24 seasons, is second in the league’s all-time point statistics with 1,921 regular season points. Last February, Jagr was the celebration object of the NHL and the Pittsburgh Penguins, when the Penguins raised the Czech player’s game number 68 on the ceiling of their home arena.

In the shirt of his parent club Kladno, Jagr grabbed an assist right away in the opening match of the season on Wednesday, but the team lost to Pardubice 1–5. Jagr is also the owner of Kladno.
