Reform of sports funding after the Olympics: The next brake block for sport

German sports funding should become more efficient, faster and more flexible – especially after the disappointing medal haul in Paris. But the second draft law also divides the actors who should be working together.

A few weeks ago, it seemed as though white clouds of smoke were rising above the headquarters of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) in Frankfurt. Although the sports policy conclave had not elected a new head, the umbrella organization reported progress on a project that was hardly less complex: the reform of German elite sports.
