Bologna wins at Brianteo and returns to success, 2-1 against Monza

Bologna takes home their first win of the championship by beating Monza 2-1 at the Brianteo. Urbanski in the first half and an absolute gem from Castro in the second half put the seal on the three points for the Felsinei. The first flash of brilliance comes from the Emilians. In the 4th minute, Ndoye enters the area, moves the ball to his left and shoots, finding Turati ready to save in two stages. The Brianza team’s reply comes in the 10th minute, when Ravaglia has to lift a header from Pedro Pereira over the crossbar, having been left guiltily free in a corner situation.

The game broke the deadlock in the 24th minute and Italiano’s men scored. Lykogiannis crossed from the left, Carboni jumped in vain and Urbanski took advantage to beat Turati and score his first goal of the season. The Pole came close to doubling the lead on the half hour mark, when he shot just wide with his left after great coordination in the area. In the 39th minute, Ndoye troubled Turati again, with a right-footed shot from the edge that whistled against the post to the left of the goalkeeper. The rossoblu played better, but Palladino’s team reacted and scored the equaliser in the 43rd minute. Maldini shot from outside, Ravaglia parried it short and Djuric pounced on the ball, making it 1-1 and sending both teams to the locker rooms.

At the start of the second half, Castro tries with a close-range right-footer, but Turati saves it in the corner with an excellent intervention. On the opposite side, Bianco finishes with a powerful right-footer from long range in the 6th minute, but the ball ends up just outside. The pace slows, but in the 35th minute, the guests find the wild card.

Lucumi’ recovers the ball and passes it to Freuler, who advances undisturbed and serves Castro who shoots from long distance with a lightning right foot that ends up in the far corner. The final push by the Lombards does not have the desired effect and the result will not change again. Bologna thus scores its first win of the season, climbing to mid-table with 6 points. For Monza instead comes a heavy defeat, which leaves the team in third-last position with only 3 points to its name.
