Bayern Munich goalkeeper Sven Ulreich has been suspended for one game by the control committee of the German Football Association after a verbal misfire in the Bundesliga top game against Bayer Leverkusen (1-1). The keeper also has to pay a fine of 20,000 euros. The DFB announced this. Ulreich and FC Bayern have already agreed to the verdict.
A video by Ulreich caused a stir on the Internet and brought the DFB onto the scene. In the short clip, recorded during Munich’s top game on Saturday, the angry Bayern substitute goalkeeper can be seen on the bench. Beforehand you can hear the loud complaint “Zeitspiel”, then the demand: “Stop over there, you bum.” Ulreich can then be seen saying “Hey, hey, sit down Rolfes, you wanker”. There is applause – and a “yes, Ulle” can be heard.
Ulreich has already contacted Rolfes and apologized. “That’s it for me,” said the Leverkusen sports director after his team’s 1-0 (0-0) win in the Champions League against AC Milan.
