Mbappé, not on France’s list for the Nations League

Forward Kylian Mbappé and left back Ferland Mendy, from Real Madrid, have been left out of the French national team’s list this Thursday for the upcoming international matches against Israel and Belgium in the Nations League.

Kyliam Mbappé, Real Madrid star who has just recovered from a small muscle injury, has not been included by coach Didier Deschamps for these two away games, so the Madrid striker, who missed the derby due to injury and was substitute against Lille in the Champions League this Wednesday, he will have a rest during the next national team break. An inactivity that will allow him to fully recover, as well as being able to accumulate 14 days without playing a match.

“I have spoken with Kylian. He has a muscle problem that is not serious, but I am not here to take risks, that is why he is not on the list,” Deschamps said at a press conference, where he noted that he does not have “the slightest doubt about his involvement” with France.

Another of the great novelties on the France list is the absence of Real Madrid player Ferland Mendy, who has started nine of the eleven games that Carlo Ancelotti’s team has played so far.

Real Madrid midfielders Aurélien Tchouaméni and Eduardo Camavinga will be with the French national team, as well as FC Barcelona full-back Jules Koundé. All this, in what is the first list of the French team since Antoine Griezmann will communicate this week his decision to leave the ‘bleu’ team.
