Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini reach the doubles final at the WTA 1000 tournament in Beijing (hard, prize pool $8,955,610). In the sixth semifinal of the season the two Italians defeated the Americans Sofia Kenin and Bethanie Mattek-Sands 6-4, 1-6, 10-4, who had beaten them in the semi-final in Miami. All that is now missing is the mathematical certification for qualification for the WTA Finals of Riyadh. It would be the first participation for an Italian player or couple in the end-of-season tournament since 2015.
