Football|Kaan Kairinen has been in great shape in the ranks of Sparta Praha in the Champions League.
Finland the men’s national football team experienced a hard setback when it became clear that Sparta Prague’s midfielder Kairinen too will be sidelined for the Nations League games against Ireland and England.
According to the Finnish Football Association’s press release, Kairisen, 25, suffered an adductor muscle injury during the September national team camp that still bothers her and requires rest.
“I spoke with Kaan and found out that the same injury has been bothering him since September. He has been playing with the help of painkillers and has not been able to fully train at one hundred percent,” the head coach Markku Kanerva comments on the Football Association on the website.
Kairinen has been in strong form at Sparta Prague and has scored in two Champions League matches in both. He shares the sixth place in the goal exchange.
HSV’s midfielder has been named as a new player to the team Anssi Suhonen.
Finland hosts Ireland at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium on October 10 at 21:45 and England on October 13 at 19:00.
Finland has started the Nations League with two losses. First, Greece punished Huuhkaji with goals 3–0, and then England was better with a score of 2–0.
