Football|Huhukjat is trying to break their losing streak in the Nations League.
Finland the star goalkeeper of the men’s national football team Lukas Hradecky describes Thursday’s match against Ireland as a team that might play “a positive way of chaos football”.
“We mustn’t lose control so we don’t go crazy. With control, we aim to create scoring opportunities and there is a threat that we will not be the winning side, as in previous games,” Hradecky said on Monday in Helsinki, referring to the September away matches of the Nations League against Greece and England.
Huuhkajat lost both of their matches, but so did Ireland, who lost to England and Greece on their home field in September.
“On Thursday we need an Irish knock, we all know that. Based on that, then towards the near future”, Hradecky summed up, stressing that “the win has to come”.
Ireland’s course is pointing down
The scoundrels plays in the second tier of the Nations League, i.e. B-league.
“We haven’t scored goals in two games. It’s not a monkey on the back, but we all know that it has to start from there, that you can win matches in general”, said Hradecky.
Ireland also did not score a single goal in their two matches in September.
The course of Ireland, which is ranked 62nd in the world ranking of the international football association Fifa, has been sharply downward in recent years, because just five years ago the country was ranked 28th. Huuhkajat is currently 64th in the ranking.
“I have no doubts that we wouldn’t be able to beat Ireland with this group,” Hradecky exuded faith.
The match between Finland and Ireland will be played at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki. More than 15,000 tickets have been sold for the match so far.
