French motorcyclist Frederic Baudry (47) died in hospital after falling during the first stage of the off-road rally in Morocco, the last stop World Rally–Raid championship.
The French motorcyclist fell from the dune at the 97th kilometer, it is stated in a short press release from the organizers.
– The doctors took care of him quickly after he was transported by medical helicopter to the hospital, where he unfortunately died – it is added.
– Već participated in the rally last year, and planned to go to the next Dakar. He dreamed of Dakar – added one of the organizers David Castera.
Rallye du Maroco is the last, fifth stop of the World Rally Raid Championship. The first was held in Saudi Arabia, the second in the UAE, the third in Portugal, and the fourth in Argentina.
After the first stage in the motorists’ competition, the Qatari was in the lead Nasser Al-Attiyah behind the wheel of a Dacia Sandrider.
