Conmebol defines grand final stadium

A Conmebol announced, on Monday night (7), that it will host the final of the Copa Sudamericana to be played in Paraguay.

La Nueva Olla (General Pablo Rojas), in Asunción, will be the stage for the continental tournament’s decision. The game takes place on November 23rd.

The stadium is owned by Cerro Porteño, one of the most traditional clubs in Paraguay. The team is no longer in contention for the title.

The venue holds more than 45 thousand fans and was, according to Conmebol, chosen to host the final due to its “modern infrastructure and strategic location”.

Corinthians and Cruzeiro are the Brazilian representatives in the semifinals of the South American Championship. Racing, which faces the São Paulo team, and Lanús, the Minas Gerais rival, complete the list of survivors.

The decision time has not yet been confirmed by Conmebol. Finally, the entity announced that it will release information about tickets in the coming days.

While the Sudamericana ends in Paraguay, the Libertadores ends in Argentina: last week, River Plate’s Monumental de Núñez was confirmed as the stadium for the final.
