Niels Hintermann is skipping the upcoming World Cup season

Swiss-Ski cites health reasons as the reason. It is the second time that Hintermann has had to miss a season.

The coming World Cup season will take place without Niels Hintermann. As Swiss-Ski announced early on Wednesday morning, the Swiss speed specialist will be skipping the season for health reasons. The association and the 29-year-old from Zurich want to provide more information at a press conference in the afternoon.

This is the second time for Hintermann that he has had to miss an entire season. He did not compete in any races in 2017/18. At that time he was suffering from a shoulder injury.

Hintermann didn’t really get up to speed last season. He only finished in the top ten four times. The only top result was the victory at the end of the season in the downhill in Kvitfjell – his third triumph in the World Cup.
