That’s what Matthäus says about Klopp’s new job

Record national player Lothar Matthäus has welcomed Jürgen Klopp’s upcoming engagement as “Global Head of Soccer” at Red Bull. The Sky expert told the TV station that the two parties fit together. “I think Red Bull thinks big – Jürgen Klopp is really big,” said Matthäus and emphasized: “There will be changes, he will get all the support from the group. Then we’ll see what comes of it.” Klopp could certainly help Red Bull achieve its goals.

Addressing critics of the new partnership, the former Red Bull Salzburg coach said: “Red Bull is new territory for Jürgen Klopp, but Liverpool was also new territory and he is taking on this task. If someone criticizes that, I say: We should all be open to new things. For me this is a completely normal path. Jürgen Klopp can work for whoever he wants. It is important that he stays with football and can continue to give football impetus.”

Matthäus has not given up his wish that Klopp will one day appear on the sidelines of a football field again. He hopes “that maybe one day, sometime in the next few years, he will be seen in the coaching bench again.”
