The Finnish jässikka forged a hat-trick in the Vegas net in the away bowl. The season that has started is important for Rantanen, because his contract ends this season.

Rantanen scored his opening goal of the season by Nathan MacKinnon from the feed already in the opening set.

The Finn scored the second hit of the evening from a fairly small angle with superior power.

Rantanen completed the hat trick in the third period again with superiority from his familiar position as a shooter.

With his third goal of the final set, Rantanen brought chasing Colorado within a goal from Vegas, but the home team then ran away.

Vegas crushed Colorado 8-4.

IN VANCOUVER the crowd in the home arena went completely silent after noticing that the Calgary Flames forward Kevin Rooney left worryingly lying on the surface of the ice after a hard crash in the opening set.

Vancouver’s JT Miller tackled Rooney dangerously in open ice. Rooney couldn’t get hold of his defender’s pass, and Miller had already locked his tackle and finished it off, even though he could have had the puck in the situation.

Rooney was out on the wing and wobbled dangerously against the edge of the rink. The situation led to a mass brawl, but the situation calmed down quickly when Rooney didn’t get up.

The doctors spent a long time with Rooney, who was still moving his limbs and was conscious.

The arena staff was just bringing a stretcher onto the ice when Rooney got up with the support of his teammates and headed to the locker room. There is no further information about his condition yet.

Miller did not get cold feet from the situation. Later Calgary Anthony Mantha challenged Miller to a fight, and the two clashed.

Calgary was the opponent at the beginning of the match. Vancouver forged four goals already in the first period, but Calgary woke up later, rose to the side and passed. Calgary led the game 5-4 late in the third period.

Vancouver still struggled to tie the game, but Calgary won the match 6–5 in overtime.
