BVB signs right-back Couto

Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund has signed right-back Yan Couto. The 22-year-old Brazilian is currently on loan from Manchester City. Now the purchase obligation anchored in the loan agreement and tied to certain sporting criteria took effect. Several English and German media reported on this on Thursday.

Couto has been on loan to FC Girona for the past two years and initially moved to the Revierclub in the summer for a loan fee of around four million euros. According to information from “Ruhr Nachrichten”, the purchase price is now around 20 million euros. It was already rumored in the summer that the requirements for a permanent transfer were very low.

How long the contract will now run is unclear. The Brazilian was currently struggling with adjustment problems in the Bundesliga.
