First snow pistes: you can already ski here

Winter is already at the door, and as is traditional, many first-snow slopes have opened in October.

Imatra and biathlon operator Kontiolahti joined the list of slopes opened during Thursday and Friday.

Now you can go skiing in six places around Finland. Some of the tracks are still subject to a fee.

So far, the most valuable pleasure is in Sotkamo’s Vuokatti. There you can ski the 4.5 kilometer track for a fee of 29 euros.

Skiing in Levi and Ruka is free.

During October, first snow slopes are planned to open at least in Taivalkoski, Kajaani, Rovaniemi, Olokse and Vöyri.

The most valuable first snow slope of all is at Muonio Olos. The day ticket for the baana, announced to open on October 28, costs 40 euros for the first month. If, for example, you can get a ticket at half price by staying at a local accommodation.
