Ronaldo is (still) the highest paid footballer in the world

Last summer Saudi Arabia sorted itself out after the crazy spending of the previous year but the contracts remain and it is no coincidence that four of the 10 highest paid footballers in the world in 2024 are in the Saudi League. And who other than Cristiano Ronaldo could lead this special ranking drawn up by “Forbes”? The 39-year-old Portuguese continues to break records, even off the pitch, and looks down on everyone with 285 million dollars in his pocket (220 from Al Nassr, 65 from earnings off the pitch), around 263 million euro. In second place but quite far away is Lionel Messi, who has to “settle” for 135 million dollars, then Neymar, playing for Al Hilal, on the podium with 110 million.

Completing the Top Ten are Karim Benzema (104 million), Kylian Mbappe (90 million), first of the players playing in Europe, and then Erling Haaland (60 million), Vinicius Junior (55 million), Mohammed Salah (53 million), Sadio Manè (52 million) and Kevin De Bruyne (39 million).
