Bundesliga: Rose foregoes Klopp’s help: “He needs some rest”

RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose will forego tips from Jürgen Klopp before the Champions League game against his former club FC Liverpool. “Kloppo is in Mallorca and looks after his wife, his dog, his children,” said Rose after the 2-0 away win in the Bundesliga against FSV Mainz 05. He will do everything, but not Klopp call, emphasized the 48-year-old. “He needs some rest.”

In the summer, Klopp quit as manager after nine years at Liverpool FC and announced a break from coaching. As of January 1, 2025, he will now take over football strategic tasks at Red Bull as “Head of Global Soccer”. Klopp is happy that he can now rest a bit, said Rose. “And I’ll give him that too.”

RB will face Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday evening (9 p.m./DAZN) and are already under pressure in the home game. After the first two matchdays, the Saxons have zero points. Things are looking significantly better in the Bundesliga. Leipzig are still undefeated. In Mainz, RB remained without conceding a goal in their fifth league game in a row.
